Dear SJI NPCC,
As Batch 45 stepped down on Friday, there was an overwhelming amount of emotions which crossed our hearts. One year, 12 months and 365 days passed in a blink of an eye. All of a sudden, we were entrusted with the Unit and immediately after that, events and competitions filled our schedules, finally carrying us to the end of our journey. This rollercoaster ride had many twists and turns, but I will surely say it is one I will board again if I am given a chance!
Through this final post from me, I wish to appreciate the hard work and unswerving dedication of those who stood by the 13 of us and made this experience a complete, fruitful and fulfilling one!
Firstly, the 13 of us are immensely thankful for our Outgoing OC Lynette Lin and the TOs. Although our batch was not the best during our cadet days, they believed in us, especially the 13 of us in leading this unit. Accurate enough, our days as a Cadet Leader was not an easy one. We would make mistakes, but their continuous guidance and support pushed us to go further and overcome all hurdles as a united team. Thank you once again for being an essential part of our journey!
Secondly, the Mentors. I think that they have been of paramount importance and at any one point or more, they have sacrificed their own time to help us in our stressful situations. Starting with Yi Long, he definitely has been a vital force in our earlier stages of our CLship. He helped to set the foundations for the UCs especially and made it easier for us to get accustomed to our new roles. His support has always been key to the success of our batch. The next set of mentors were of equal strength and ability as Yi Long. Kenneth, Julian, Yash, Jaren and Raven. I vividly remember how they used to stay back during training sessions and other gatherings to provide us with their inputs and advice. The role they played in UTC is something I will never forget! When everything was pulling apart, they stepped in to stitch our hopes back alive.
And of course, the 12 trusted men I am fortunate to have led. Even though it was quite a tragedy to have lost half of your squad, these 12 have made up for every manpower. The blood sweat and tears we have shed together can never be replaced. I might not be able to thank each and everyone individually, or I might not have explicitly showed my appreciation, but please do know that the success of me or any of the UCs are in one way or another due to the 10 of yall! The past one year has brought me heaps of joy and valuable life lessons I will cherish. Let us continue to stick together despite whatever that is in store for us!
Special mention to UCs because we are the best amIright! Glad to have worked side by side with the 2 of you. I am sure NethrenBala, XavYeo and CalvinTimTam will continue the proud legacy of the UCs before them!
Last but definitely not the least, the Unit. Thank you for bearing our shouts or lectures. Sometimes, if we had every been unreasonable, do not be afraid to tell us. Your support and enthusiasm have led us to achieve Gold yet again! Keep the spirits high as Batch 46 takes over. This batch has many talents and they are very determined to provide the best for the Unit. We are proud of their growth into a profound Cadet Leader. Like they say, strive to do better than the batch before and bring the Unit to greater heights. I hope the 13 of us have prepared all of you for another crucial year in NPCC. Go forth and Conquer!
Wishing everyone here my heartfelt wishes! All the best!
Sincerely,
