Hi Gentlemen,
Congratulations on completing your mid-year exams. I still have Lecture Tests next week and my Block Tests (equivalent of your Mid Years) come in the first week after June Holidays (what a great holiday I am going to have =X)
I am very sure that you should have very well known about the 6th Uniformed Groups Bowling Championships that our HCINPCC is organising this June, so this post is more to encourage you guys to participate in the competition.
First and foremost, I urge you guys, to join this competition and win the trophy for SJINPCC! I know some of you must be worrying about the cost of participating in this competition, but 3 people in a team + 1 reserve, and furthermore with 2 full games you get to play, the cost of playing by yourself, including rental of shoes and lanes is far more than the cost of joining this competition.
So here are the benefits for joining UGBC:
1. Get to play a very gentlemanly sport in the air-con hall
2. Interact with the people in the hall, more particularly the participants in the lanes beside yours and who knows? It could be your ex-classmates
3. Develop an interest in bowling and maybe, become a professional bowler in future. Bowling is seriously fun and not energy-wasting, a perfect sport to play even if you are very tired
4. Since it's not only NPCC, you could ask many of your primary school friends who are in UGs to join this competition, and after the event, go for an outing!
5. Enjoy a day with your squadmates together, and through constant interaction and encouragement, get to be closer to one other
So, here are the details again:
The prelims will be held on 11 June 2010 (Friday), while the finals will be held on 25 June 2010 (Friday). The venue is the Orchid Country Club Bowling Alley.
You will be competing in teams of 4, inclusive of 1 reserve member. Each bowler will play 2 games and the aggregate points of the 3 bowlers will be computed. According to this aggregate, the top 10 boys' teams will then enter the finals. Entering the finals will also guarantee a team trophy.
Now, I have some good news to share with all of you: The deadline for registration has been extended to next Wednesday 19/05/2010 at 2359 hrs. So, if you are keen on participating in this event, please revert to your SI ASAP!
For more information on the event, please go to www.hci.sg/npcc/ugbc. I hope that you are inspired to join this comp. after reading this email. Would also greatly appreciate if you can help to publicise this event to the other UG members whom you know. All the best!
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Guo Chen
