Dear all,
I am pleased to announce that our NPCC Unit has once again attained the UOPA Gold Award for the year 2017.
This is the 8th consecutive year that we have attained the Gold Award and we would not have accomplished it without sheer hard work and dedication of every member in the unit. Indeed, it was one of the most challenging year for us but we soldiered on. Uniformed groups such as NPCC are awarded based on assessment conducted throughtout the year. Often these preparations and training are carried out behind the scenes but it still involves the support, hard work and dedication of school leaders, teachers and students.
As such, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the following people:
- The Admin team, especially Father Adrian and Mr Dominic Ang, who are always there to lend support and encouragement,
- The caring team of teachers - Mrs Mishaelle Chua, Ms Doris Koh, Mr Ang Yuin Hur and Ms Chew Huifang. They are the strong pillars of the unit, without whom any of them, the cadets have always looked up to for guidance. It is because of them that the unit is still going strong.
- The enthusiastic parents of all cadets who always lend their support to our programme,
- Cadet mentors who have sacrificed time to work tirelessly behind-the-scenes and also guided the cadets in both hard and soft skills,
- The unwavering commitment and passion displayed by our cadet leaders from the batch 2017/18 who were the heart and soul of SJI NPCC. These are two batches of Cadet Leaders led by SI (NPCC) Kenneth Wong and SSG (NPCC) Bhavesh Murugan respectively, that I have personally worked with and witnessed their hard work and meticulous planning leading up to the success of many NPCC events and new initiatives.
- Lastly, all cadets for playing your part as a member of the unit.
Our success in 2017 is a result of everyone's effort in ensuring the smooth running of our programme. Each and everyone of you are important to the unit and I hope this award serves as a testament to the great work all of you have done.
On behalf of the unit, I would also like to thank the Mr Tahir and Mr Ron Tok for their patience, guidance and assistance in 2017.
As I step down during the Anniversary Parade this year, I am sure our team of Teacher Officers and new batch of Cadet Leaders under Ms Doris Koh will continue to do our best for the cadets under our care.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU everyone!
We look forward to a good year in 2018.
